We welcome you to Wing Chun Hospitalet!
A place dedicated to the teaching of Wing Chun and the study of Kung fu. We are the official Hospitalet delegation of the Wong Shung Leung Spain association and together we have created this dream, a school where all practitioners regardless of their age nor their technique can enjoy, have fun and grow in an environment faithful to the traditional Chinese teachings of kung fu.
“Intercept what comes, follow what moves away, strike if there is no strength.” This is perhaps one of the phrases that can summarize the essence of the martial style and the main goal of each student in himself.
Our Martial Style
As in many other martial arts, there are many lines and schools of Wing Chun.
The style we practice at school is inherited from master Wong Shung Leung, one of the Chinese martial artists best known for his tenacity in combat and for being a direct student of the line of Yip Man and Si-hing of Bruce Lee.
Although wing chun is not known worldwide for having very acrobatic forms or competitions, it is a martial style designed to achieve efficiency and adaptability in each conflict regardless of the situation.
Understanding wing chun is understanding yourself and being aware of every reaction that happens in the environment.
Learning Kung Fu
One of the pillars of our association is to transmit the values of kung fu and its different concepts that are interrelated with various philosophies such as Taoism and Stoicism.
Kung fu is much more than an art or a mentality, it is a path to follow in the life of personal self-growth.
Far from the constant rhythm of society, routine and leisure, the study of kung fu is essential to feed the mind and understand the reality that surrounds us far from falling into judgments and opinions.
The practice of Wing Chun as the daily experience of the philosophy surrounding kung fu is vital to not stop on the path of life.
One of the practices that we usually share every Saturday is Kung fu Cha, a space of time that we dedicate to deepening different ideas, theories, beliefs and concepts while sharing tea, reflections and stories. This activity focuses on the concept of Sam Faat (Kung fu that is born from the heart) and it is through it that we can see ourselves and reflect.
The quickest way to get to the heart of the problem is through straight-line punching.
Sifu
“Sifu” is a Chinese word that refers to “father master”, like the concept of Sensei, the sifu is the person who is in charge of guiding you and teaching you the path of kung fu from an ethical, martial and spiritual. Having a good master is crucial to growing as a martial artist and that is why the first thing you should do before starting any martial art is to know the instructor and his teaching method.
Sifu Mariano Sagarra is the person in charge of teaching the classes at Moh Kwoon in Hospitalet. He is a disciple of Sifu Dani López and a student of his Sikung Santi Pascual, president of the AWW.
With more than 10 years of teaching and 15 years of practice and study of Wing Chun, Sifu Mariano’s school’s main goal is to help each student learn the theoretical and practical principles of Wing Chun and delve deeper into the concepts.
His teachings are aimed at improving coordination, balance and strength, but the most important of them is kung fu. It is not enough to achieve martial excellence if you do not have the ability to control yourself.
The journey of 10,000 miles always begins with the walker's first step
Our Moh Kwoon
In the same way as “Dojo”, the meaning of the word “Moh Kwoon” refers to the place where practitioners of any style of kung fu meet to practice and do various activities. The Moh Kwoon is not only a place dedicated to training but also to learning, recreation, meditation and philosophical introspection with oneself.
We have the honor of being the official Wing Chun delegation of the lineage of GM Wong Shun Leung Wing Chun kung fu in the city of Hospitalet del Llobregat (Barcelona). Our Moh Kwoon (school) is adapted and conditioned to meet the needs of students.
The training is carried out in a relaxed atmosphere, to promote personal development at the individual’s own pace, through the practice of adapted and systematic exercises for both men and women.
Likewise, from time to time different activities are carried out such as martial arts seminars, film sessions, philosophical talks, meals and much more.
